I take it that you might not have known that there is still a web site that has been “blocked” by Malaysian ISP through DNS service right now.

Just in case you don’t know, someone did the opposite of your assurance to the public.

The Public-Funded Deconnexion operated by Naim Candera Sdn. Bhd.’s subsidiary Danawa Resources has been popping up all over the towns of Sarawak. However, Of late, there seems to be some problem with their services, such as:

1. Wifi Connected, No IP assigned
2. Wifi Connected, IP Assigned, not DNS active.
3. Wifi Connected, IP Assigned, DNS is serving but no web data coming through.

Out of 300+ tries I made last couple of months, It has no Internet serving whatsoever. Last we knew was that they have signed an agreement with CAIS, a Hong Kong based ISP to provide the bandwidth needed. However, it looks more and more like Tax money going into the companies’ owner’s pocket rather than benefiting the Internet users of Sarawak.

Maybe PAC should look into this project before more Tax Payer’s money is spent unnecessarily.

I am forming a TM User Group for round 2. The first TM user group as carried out by Michael Lai prior to his exit from TM Net has been iced since his exit. I felt that the user should know the inside of the TM operation and with my recent encounter with TM, I have managed to secure a communication channel with their CSM Manager to properly address any technical issues with them directly. In order to share this communication channel, I have with their permission, to reactivate and restart the formation of the TM User Group.

To see this happen, I am going to start it off from my home state here in Sarawak. In the next six months time, and if God is willing, the new user group will be formed and will hold office.

New here is the beef. This group is not a group form by TM as compared to the first TM user group. This group will have a proper communication channel to CSM as assured by the CSM Manager during a discussion. Here is a call for forming the pro-tem committee for the user group. I was told that the above service provider has offline. They were one of the few who has implemented Satellite Broadband services here in Malaysia and all of the sudden, it went offline just like that. There were no news from Smart Malaysia web site and the web site is still advertising the sales of the services. News from KL is that they went bust.
